Volkshochschule im Landkreis Cham e.V.


Volkshochschule im Landkreis Cham e.V. (VHS Cham) is a registered, non-profit association in Upper Palatinate and acts on the regional level. More than 50 employees and about 300 freelancers complete the administrative, teaching and training activities of the institution.

VHS Cham provides courses in the field of society, vocation, languages, health, culture, special courses (second chance schools and literacy programmes). The majority of the activities are directed towards young people, unemployed persons, 50+ generation and those who want to change qualifications. VHS provides guidance, counselling and vocational information as well as trainings in order to get new qualifications adjusted to the labour market.

The institution provides a variety of ICT courses for different levels and clients. 

VHS Cham works in several EU wide programmes such as Leonardo-da-Vinci, Grundtvig, Transversal programs and has a European-wide network of various partner institutions. 

In 2011 and 2012, some of the European projects of VHS Cham received awards on the national level.
